Marelisa - that works, also! I have the visual editor turned off on all my blogs, so when I'm pasting - that's what I'm doing: pasting into the HTML editor.

Suzanne: I cut text from wordpress and paste on the html editor of my blog and no code appears (as opposed to pasting into the visual editor, in which case the code does appear).

Yasmin, you are correct. Notepad is a plain text editor, so when you paste things into it from Word, all that stowaway code gets stripped. You can then freely and safely copy/paste into WordPress from Notepad, and if that solution is easier for you than using the Paste From Word button, then have at it. You are one of the exceptions to my "just write it in WordPress from the start" rule because you have so many guest bloggers that submit their stuff via email in Word docs.

Thanks for highlighting an alternative for folks!

Hey Suzanne...since you and I discussed this several months ago...I no longer cut and paste from Word except in emergencies (guest posters)...but question...if it's a Word doc and I cut and paste into Notepad (which I think strips the codes) and then into the Word press blog...is this okay...I think I went this route because I messed up using the Paste From Window once...and then I've also been as anal as to go into HTML and strip the code (yes it's more timely...but at least I know I've gotten rid of everything...lol).
Bottom Line...I no longer type any of my stuff via a Word document...but I do have authors/columnists folks who tour with APOOO and send me stuff in Word docs...I've been using Notepad to strip the code...and have gotten into the habit but if you tell me this is a problem then I will change my 'wicked ways.' LOL.
