New Sites – July 2009
Lustre Quartet met through and continue to sing with the Harbor City Music Company Show Chorus (HCMC), a chapter of Sweet Adelines International (SAI) out of Baltimore, Maryland. In their time together they have garnered several SAI regional awards starting with the Novice Quartet award in 2006 to most recently taking Second Place in regional competition in 2009.
Witness Security called me this month and asked if I had a home security system. I didn’t (…and I’ve had a house fire…I know…I know!) so I set up an appointment to have them come out and give me a security assessment. Keith Schultz, the owner, is who came to my door and we hit it off immediately. We talked about my security system needs, owning and operating your own business, and when he found out what I do for a living, we realized we could be of mutual benefit to each other! I have, once again, the peace of mind of knowing my home, family and belongings are monitored and protected, and Keith has a great website he can use in multiple ways to grow his business. Win-win!

I try to refrain from saying ‘nice post…’ in my comments but I am impressed with the three sites. It’s clear you created the last two so I am assuming you also created the Lustre site. Although it was the WordPress that caused me to stop at this post it was Susan’s site that made me stop and think. It brought back some memories as I was a single Dad back in the early 80′s with two small girls to bring up – It isn’t all Mom’s Susan (but I’m sure you know that already). Didn’t see any help back then either local, government or private. Both girls turned out great by the way, in fact my youngest is 30 today. Though there were times when I never thought they would. I’m sure there are plenty of Moms (Dads) who will be very thankfull for your help by the time their kids grown up.

Hi Joe – thanks for stopping in! Yes, I created all 3 sites, and I see why Susan’s “Confident Mom” site struck a chord with you. Single dads have all the pressures of single parenting along with the pressures of not being the ‘normal’ parent to be single-parenting. As a single parent, myself, I have great admiration for the men out there who are parenting alone.
Ironically, my middle child is celebrating a birthday today, too – he’s 16. How ’bout that?
