I have used it for blogs as well as sites that appear to the user to be regular websites with static pages regarding the service/product. My only concern is some users get too many widets going and this really affects the loading of the page sometimes to the point it never really completes loading. WordPress is a great platform. It's amazing how diverse it can be and what you can get out of it. When people ask me about setting up a site for them and I mention wordpress and how it's a blog system, they immediately start saying they don't want a blog, just a simple site. I really need to start calling wordpress a Content Management System to not give people the wrong first impression that makes them pigeon hole it.
